Initial pass of recreating csv exports using the card client
Once #18 (closed) has been implemented, the card client may have enough information to be able to create exports with the same set of people as contained within the existing csv exports from the legacy card system.
Put together configuration and generate an export to replicate the following institutional exports:
- Dept. of Engineering
- Dept. of Chemistry
- Christs
- Darwin
- Emmanuel
- Fitzwilliam
- Homerton
- Lucy Cavendish
- Murray Edwards
- Peterhouse
- Robinson
- St Edmunds
- Wolfson
To start the configuration should probably look like:
- All cards by CamSIS institution (students)
student_institution - All cards by legacy cardholder organisation (mainly staff who do not exist in CHRIS)
legacy_carddb_organisation_id - All cards for staff members in Lookup by institution (any other staff)
lookup_institution
Once generated, the verify_export script can be used to determine the differences between the new exports and the current ones.
The differences should then be sent to the relevant IT managers, along with instructions about how to generate these CSVs via the card client, allowing them to see who is included and who is excluded and the steps involved in migrating to using the card client.
The existing card export csvs can be found on sanders at /tmp/card_files/. They are generated nightly.
