How to authenticate users of the UK federation

The overview page says:

Raven can be used to authenticate current members of the University, members of the public and members of institutions in the UK Access Management Federation.

But we are not providing instructions or link to instructions on how to authenticate members of institutions in the UK Access Management Federation.
