repository size limit

Can my project have >1GB please? It says "The size of this repository (1.4 GB) exceeds the limit of 1 GB by 380 MB. You won't be able to push new code to this project. Please contact your GitLab administrator for more information". There seems to be other related issues requesting ~2GB - could I have this size for the following project (proviate) please? https://gitlab.developers.cam.ac.uk/ssg29/olink-2022

Thanks for your e-mail. We set the quota at 1Gb as this is recommended by Gitlab. To overcome this limitation, I recommend you move some of the files to LFS.

You can do this with the following command:

git lfs track "*.ext"

Dear Adam,

I tried your suggestion by using lfs for my existing repository (https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/topics/git/lfs/#migrate-an-existing-repository-to-git-lfs​), but it still complains with the storage size:

$git -f push Remote "origin" does not support the Git LFS locking API. Consider disabling it with: $ git config lfs.https://gitlab.developers.cam.ac.uk/ssg29/olink-2022.git/info/lfs.locksverify false batch response: Your push has been rejected, because this repository has exceeded its size limit of 1 GB by 1.7 GB. Please contact your GitLab administrator for more information. error: failed to push some refs to 'gitlab.developers.cam.ac.uk:ssg29/olink-2022.git'

Any help with this?
