We need to make changes and fixes to MyCApp from accessibility testing to ensure it adheres with WCAG-AA standards. This needs to be completed in time for end of October prior to external agency accessibility testing is conducted.

The University has stated that it will voluntarily follow the public sector bodies accessibility regulations (see the revision which conveys some important notes) – though that was supposed to be around using the defined technical standards (currently WCAG 2.1AA) as the best way of ensuring we meet our obligations under the Equality Act.

Amendments to the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018

4.  For regulation 9 substitute—

“9.  A website or mobile application of a public sector body will be presumed to be in conformity with the accessibility requirement to the extent that the website or mobile application conforms to Level A and AA Success Criteria as set out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium, as amended from time to time(1).”
