Fix publish not incrementing version number
Publish was not saving the incremented version number. So we were seeing errors like:
You cannot publish over the previously published versions: 0.0.3.
When we thought we were publishing version 0.1.0
GitLab will be updated on Thursday 19 August 2026 between 12:00 and 14:00. There may be small periods of service instability.
GitLab will be updated on Thursday 20 August 2026 between 17:00 and 20:00. GitLab will be unavailable during this time.
